Contains Romer's correspondence, research notes, memoranda, drawings and photographs of fossils, clippings, and miscellaneous papers. Correspondence focuses primarily on issues in the fields of vertebrate paleontology, comparative anatomy, morphology, and stratigraphy. Includes material relating to Romer's teaching duties and administrative responsibilities at the University of Chicago (1923-1934) and Harvard (1934-1973); papers chronicling his activities as director of the Museum of Comparative Zoology, as president of several scientific societies (including the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the International Congress of Zoology), and as an officer on the governing boards of numerous associations; research notes on field trips to South Africa, Argentina, and Texas; grant proposals and progress reports on funded projects; and reference letters for students and colleagues.
